Myson Trophy Rules

Inter-Club Four Ball Match Play Competition Rules

(a) All member clubs must enter one team.


(b) Each team must consist of two players whose HI is not less than 7.5 on the date of the competition. A maximum HI of 15.4 is allowed. Shots to be taken from the lowest handicap player. This is to be treated as a 'Club' competition so if one player becomes unavailable a substitute player MUST be used. Extensions will not be granted for 'unavailabilty'.


(c) Play will be Four Ball better ball match play over 18 holes. Handicap 90% difference based on Playing Handicap for all players at the course the match is being played.


(d) In the event of a match being level after 18 holes, a sudden death play-off will decide the winners.


(e) Both clubs must make contact as soon as the draw for the relevant round has been received thus ensuring that the fixture is completed well before the closing date of each round.


(f) The winning team in each round must inform the League Secretary as soon as the match has been played but in any event at the latest by 8.00 pm on the Tuesday following the last stipulated date on which the round is to be played.


(g) The penalty for failure to notify the result is:- BOTH TEAMS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.


(h) The final will be played over 18 holes, on a neutral course, to be arranged by the League Secretary.


(i) The winning team will receive THE MYSON TROPHY, to be held for twelve months, together with individual prizes.


(j) Each member of the beaten finalist will receive a prize.


(k) In the event of a dispute, the teams concerned must inform the League Secretary as soon as possible. The League Secretary will consult the Association President and their decision will be final.

Fearnside Trohpy Rules

Inter-Club 4-Somes Competition Rules

(a) All member clubs MUST enter two team.


(b) Each team must consist of one player, whose HI is not less than 7.5, and one player whose playing handicap is not less than 11.5, on the date of the competition.


(c) Each round must be played over 18 holes under foursome match play rules. NO SHOTS GIVEN.


(d) In the event of a match being level after 18 holes, a sudden death play-off will decide the winners.


(e) A competitor may only play in ONE TEAM, NOT BOTH.


(f) Both clubs must make contact as soon as the draw for the relevant round has been received thus ensuring that the fixture is completed well before the closing date of each round.


(g) The winning team in each round must inform the League Secretary as soon as the match has been played but in any event at the latest by 8.00 pm on the Tuesday following the last stipulated date on which the round is to be played.
